Chris Reyns-Chikuma is professor at the University of Alberta. He teaches French literature and culture in French and Comparative Literature in English. He published on various topics, media and genres. In the recent 15 years his research focused on comics and more on Canadian comics-BD in the last 10 years. Toloo Riazi earned her doctorate in Latin American Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she developed an interdisciplinary foundation in contemporary Hispanic literature and culture. Her research explores the cultural and political forces shaping the modern Hispanic world, with particular attention to revolutions and gender. She examines how literary and visual narratives respond to social upheaval, state power, and shifting identities. Her work also engages with cultural and film studies, highlighting the ways artistic expression reflects lived experience. She currently works as a lecturer at Stanford University
Edcel Javier Cintron-Gonzalez is a Puerto Rican Ph.D. candidate in English Studies at Illinois State University, focusing in Children and Young Adult Literature with a graduate certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Michael Arthur Soares, PhD, has been a high school and college English instructor for thirty years. His research interests include the rhetoric and globalization of superheroes. Among his peer-reviewed articles are “Superman v. Specialman: Rhetorical Border Crossings of Unlicensed Superheroes” (Journal of Popular Culture 53.3, 2020), “Batroversy: Counterpublics and Antecedent Rhetorics in the Casting of Batman” (Popular Culture Review 27.2, 2016) and “The Man of Tomorrow: Superman from American Exceptionalism to Globalization” (Journal of Popular Culture 48.4, 2015). Soares published his latest book Superhero Rhetoric from Exceptionalism to Globalization: Up, Up and …Abroad with Lexington in 2024.
